My Visit to Kishinami Sake Shop in Fukushima, Japan

Venturing into the heart of Fukushima, Japan, I embarked on a quest to find the perfect local sake for my dad's souvenir request. After scouring Google Maps for nearby sake shops, I stumbled upon "Kishinami Sake Shop," a quaint establishment that piqued my interest with its glowing reviews and warm ambiance. As I approached the entrance, I was greeted by an unexpected sight โ€“ a Winnie the Pooh doll adorned in the apron of the sake shop, exuding an irresistible charm that immediately brought a smile to my face. Alongside this adorable display, the shop also offered packs of scrap kimonos and old Japanese fabric for a mere ยฅ100 each, a testament to its eclectic offerings and attention to detail. Intrigued by these unique finds, I couldn't resist purchasing three packs to take home as souvenirs.

Stepping inside, I was warmly welcomed by the owner, who attentively listened to my request for a local sake recommendation. With a gentle smile, she suggested "Kyo no Hana," a sake crafted from precious rice that is native to the Fukushima region. Trusting the owner's expertise, I eagerly agreed to her suggestion and purchased a bottle for less than ยฅ1800 โ€“ a steal considering its quality and rarity.
