A Dream Come True: Exploring Monet's Garden in Kochi, Japan

I recently had the opportunity to visit Monet's Garden in Kochi, Japan, fulfilling a long-standing dream of mine. While the experience was truly enchanting, navigating the mountainous roads to get there might be challenging for inexperienced drivers. Nonetheless, the journey was undoubtedly worth it.

The entrance fee is ¥1000 per person, and it's essential to bring cash as credit cards are not accepted. Upon request, they provide English pamphlets to ensure all visitors can fully appreciate the beauty of the gardens. Divided into three sections, each inspired by different artworks of Monet, including the iconic water lily pond, the gardens offer a serene and captivating atmosphere. During my visit in mid-April, not all the flowers were in full bloom, yet the scenery remained breathtaking.

Apart from the gardens, there is a charming gift shop offering a variety of Monet-themed merchandise. Additionally, there is a café and restaurant on-site, although I didn't dine there personally. However, the staff at the café were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, sharing insights about the garden and Monet's artworks.

While I would love to revisit Monet's Garden in a different season to witness its ever-changing beauty, I must admit that the challenging drive has given me pause. Thus, I plan to return in the future, albeit not immediately. Nonetheless, Monet's Garden left an indelible impression on me, and I look forward to experiencing its magic again soon.
